1. Kenya
Kenya is a country in East Africa, bordered by the Red Sea, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Tanzania and Uganda. The capital of Kenya is Nairobi, a large cosmopolitan city. Kenya is a popular tourist destination, thanks to its beautiful landscapes, white sand beaches, wildlife and tropical climate.
2. Tanzania
Tanzania is a country located in East Africa. It is bordered by the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean, as well as by Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique. The capital of Tanzania is Dodoma, but the largest city is Dar es Salaam. Tanzania is known for its natural sites, such as the Serengeti National Park and Mount Kilimanjaro.
3. Botswana
Botswana is a country in southern Africa. It is bordered by Zambia to the north, Zimbabwe to the northeast, the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the southeast, Namibia to the southwest and Angola to the northwest. Botswana is the second most populous country in Africa, with an estimated population of 2.3 million in 2013. Gaborone is the capital and largest city of Botswana.
4. Zimbabwe
Zimbabwe is a southern African country bordered by Zambia, Botswana and Mozambique. The country is mainly populated by Shona and Ndebele, two African ethnic groups. The official language of Zimbabwe is English, although many other languages are spoken in the country. Zimbabwe has been inhabited by humans for over 100,000 years and was part of the Empire of Zimbabwe, a prosperous African empire from the 11th to 15th centuries. The country became a British colony in 1890 and was known as Northern Rhodesia until 1964. Northern Rhodesia gained independence from the United Kingdom in 1980 and was renamed Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe fell on hard times at the start of the 21st century, due to government economic mismanagement and the currency crisis. The country is recovering from these difficulties and is once again on the path to prosperity.
5. Southern Africa
Southern Africa is a region of the African continent located south of the Sahara. It is made up of several countries, the best known of which is South Africa. This area is rich in culture and history, and home to many species of animals. The climate is variable, but generally warm and sunny. Southern Africa is a popular tourist destination, as there is so much to see and do.
