Checkpoint Charlie was an American military checkpoint located in West Berlin, Germany. He was named after the military phonetic alphabet character Charlie. It was located close to the Berlin Wall, at Friedrichstraße/Zimmerstraße, and was the only place where civilians could cross the Berlin Wall from West to East and vice versa. The checkpoint was established on August 12, 1961, after the first Berlin Wall was built. Checkpoint Charlie was closed on December 11, 1989, after the fall of the Berlin Wall.

The German Historical Museum is a museum located in Berlin. It presents the history of Germany from prehistory to the present day. The museum was established in 1987 and has over 7 million visitors a year.
– The Reichstag
The Reichstag is one of the main edifices of political power in Germany. It is the seat of the German Parliament, located in Berlin. The building was built in 1894 and was the seat of the German Parliament until 1933, when the Nazis set it on fire. After World War II, the building was restored and became the seat of the German Parliament again in 1999.
